The Flea returns to the Strip District this Sunday, May 14th and, as with each season, we are happy to host sellers old and new. This year, we are joined by Three Pigs Vintage for the first time and thought we would introduce you!

1. What will you be offering at the Flea?

We will be bringing a wide selection of 60s-00s pieces.  90s and Y2K clothing is our favorite.  I will also have a selection of hand painted/re-worked vintage items that I have honed and developed over the last year or so.  I paint leather goods (shoes, bags, pants, etc.) along with denim.  I also enjoy hand-dying vintage garments and bringing them new life.

2. How did you get started in your business? How long have you been at it?

I founded Three Pigs two years ago this May on Etsy.com. I wanted to begin creating wearable art pieces.  I started my first Etsy shop in high school, and quickly fell in love with vintage clothing.  I worked for a vintage shop in Pittsburgh and my love grew.  From there, I began experimenting with reworking pieces. Over the past year I have focused on doing this full-time.  I work with my friends and incorporate their skills/passions into the store.  Katie Krulock conducts all of the product shoots and buys for the store as well.  We will be shooting our first lookbook in June, and Katie will be shooting it all on film.  We are working on creating a website and expanding more on one-of-a-kind pieces.

3. Anything you are looking forward to this flea season?

Since we are an online shop, I really look forward to meeting people in person and having the opportunity to talk and connect. We just started doing pop-up shops this year, so each time we get to learn new things and meet more like-minded people.  This is also our first time vending at the Neighborhood Flea, so we are looking forward to what this opportunity brings.

4. Do you have any favorite finds from your time hunting down vintage goods?

My all time favorite find was a black and white, faux fur, Donnybrook "face" coat. I had been looking for it for years, and was so happy to have finally found one.

Just in case you are curious, here is the stellar coat being referred to. Courtesy of Pinterest.
